The Greater Houston area has a long history of outstanding middle and high school football. This is due in large part to the quality coaching that middle and high school players receive at their public and private schools. Within the past 20 years, there has been an increasing emphasis placed on the passing game, and as a result, the Greater Houston area has earned a deserved reputation as one of the most fertile recruiting areas in the country for quarterbacks and receivers. The Houston Quarterback Academy (HQA) was created to offer instruction to middle and high school-age quarterbacks. This instruction complements the skills the young men are learning at their respective schools and will prepare them to become better, more effective players for their schools. HQA focuses on the fundamentals of the passing game. These fundamentals are the building blocks for any quarterback and will have an application irrespective of the type of offense the young man’s school team is running. HQA features the knowledge and expertise of former professional quarterback, Mike Quinn - Mike spent 8 years in the NFL as a back-up quarterback. |
